The MediaWorks based pan-European workspace and growth accelerator company, Huckletree has expanded it Places concept at White City Place. The concept which was launched last year, has been designed to take on leases and create and and run bespoke workplaces for members seeking 5,000 sq ft of office space or more.
Huckletree have just signed a deal with dog food delivery business Butternut Box, which has taken 8,000 sq ft at the site, taking Places’ total space there to more than 20,000 sq ft.
The move by the business comes after a bumper 2020 for Butternut Box, which saw it accelerate growth plans as lockdowns drove demand for its product. Butternut Box’s new dedicated HQ will feature dog-friendly breakout areas, 11 meeting spaces, an onsite testing kitchen and an area for entertaining.
Founder Andrew Lynch said: “We’re extremely proud of the early wins of our Places model, given the challenges the market has faced this last year. Our ambition was to be the ecosystem and workspace preferred partner for the most exciting startups and SMEs, taking them from early-stage through to maturity, and it’s rewarding to see that play out with some of our longest standing members - Butternut Box, Interior Night, and The Collective Dairy - just 12 months after we first had the idea.”
Kevin Glynn, Butternut Box co-founder, added: “Huckletree have been an amazing partner to us since 2018, and we are proud to continue our journey with them. After growing rapidly over the past 12 months, especially during lockdown, we believed now was the time to invest in our own-branded headquarters. We are really looking forward to welcoming back all of the benefits an office environment uniquely provides such as the serendipitous coffee chats, break-out brainstorms and, most importantly, the dog squad!”
Claire Dawe, asset management director at Huckletree’s long-standing landlord Stanhope, added: “Huckletree has been and continues to be a key component in our ongoing strategy at White City Place.
“We’ve witnessed a whole host of businesses flourish and develop, from promising and ambitious start-ups to mature brands, demonstrating how Huckletree has been intrinsic to populating our wide range of workspaces at White City Place with a forward-thinking and energetic portfolio. Our partnership with them since 2017 has been a catalyst for our continued success in attracting innovative retail and commercial occupiers to the area on behalf of the owners of White City Place, Cadillac Fairview.”
